She could also learn new objects through the process of Inferential Reasoning By Exclusion (AKA the Process of Elimination). This means if she were shown one new toy surrounded by toys she already recognized and knew the names of, someone could ask for "[new toy name]" and Chaser could determine "[new toy name]" must be the toy she didn't recognize.
